Bill Davidson’s practice focuses on the litigation/arbitration and transactional aspects of construction law. He represents primarily private owners, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers on substantial construction projects, including power plants, chemical plants, gas processing plants, cryogenic plants, sports facilities, commercial properties, light rail, and the fabrication of production modules for the upstream oil and gas industry. His experience includes the prosecution and defense of a variety of construction-related issues, including matters relating to mechanic’s liens, performance and payment bonds, differing site conditions, breach of contract, breach of warranty, and claims relating to project delay, compression, disruption and acceleration. His transactional experience includes the drafting and review of construction contracts, primarily for industrial and petrochemical contractors.

  • Represented general contractor in multi-million dollar delay and scope dispute relating to luxury highrise hotel and mixed-use project
  • Successfully defended general contractor in multi-million dollar claim brought by a third party landowner alleging trespass and water code violations related to storm water discharge
  • Successfully defended industrial owner in multi-million dollar commercial claim dispute related to an ammonia plant
  • Successfully defended owner in a series of multi-million dollar claims brought by a general contractor during the course of an ongoing industrial plant project
  • Represented contractor in multi-million dollar breach of contract I.C.C. Arbitration arising from construction of a DRI Steel Processing Plant
  • Represented municipal contractor in multi-million dollar breach of contract case against a large municipality
  • Represented contractor in claims and defense of claims arising out of construction of water lines underneath Galveston Bay
  • Represented general contractor in connection with multi-million dollar change order claim on construction of a pipeline.
  • Represented contractor in multi-million dollar breach of contract case against a refinery
  • Represented general contractor in connection with delay, change order, and increased costs on construction of multiple crude oil tank farms and pump stations
  • Defended multiple contractors in large-scale litigation relating to chilled water piping systems at Reliant Stadium
  • Represented contractor in defense of multi-million dollar claims relating to local professional baseball stadium project
  • Represented contractor in connection with delay, change order, and increased costs on construction of pipeline
  • Defended pipeline contractor in multiparty complex litigation arising out of a project for the San Antonio Water System
  • Represented a commercial general contractor in litigation of disputes arising out of the design & construction of a hospital & parking garage
  • Represented a commercial general contractor as co-counsel in a $100 million lawsuit pending in Harris County that involved the engineering, procurement and construction of four separate gas processing plants in Louisiana. The case involved numerous construction-related issues and fraud.
  • Represented as co-counsel underground utility contractor in connection with District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority Project
  • Represented contractor in the arbitration of disputes arising out of the construction of modules for an offshore oil and gas platform
  • Represented as co-counsel a contractor which services the oil and natural gas industry by providing construction and engineering services for underground storage facilities in an arbitration against the U.S. Department of Energy’s prime contractor for decommissioning the Strategic Petroleum Reserve oil storage site located at Weeks Island, Louisiana. The case involved breach of a $13.3 million brine delivery contract and delay-related issues
  • Primary briefing attorney on several appeals, including two before the Texas Supreme Court
