Chris Love’s practice focuses on construction law, alternative dispute resolution, commercial litigation and labor and employment issues in which he represents general contractors, subcontractors, and small to mid-size companies in a variety of construction and business related disputes. Chris also has significant experience with oil & gas, environmental and personal injury matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Chris was a member of Halliburton’s litigation team, working in connection with all civil litigation and investigations concerning BP’s Macondo well blowout in the Gulf of Mexico.

- Co-chaired jury trial successfully obtaining $2.6 million dollar judgment in favor of Texas contractor against Fortune 500 chemical company in breach of contract and prompt payment lawsuit
- Won motion for summary judgment successfully removing contractor’s invalid $2.4 million dollar lien and award of legal fees for developer/owner
- Won motions for summary judgment against homeowner, Plaintiff’s claims for breach of contract on express warranties and rescission
- Won motions for summary judgment dismissing Plaintiff’s claims for securities fraud and accounting
- Won motions for summary judgment dismissing owner’s and contractor’s counterclaims for fraudulent lien filing on behalf of subcontractor
- Defended insurance broker against prior employee’s claims of wrongful termination
- Defended custom home builder against owner’s claims of alleged construction defects and improper billings
- Represented General Contractor during an OSHA investigation into a jobsite fatality, resulting in no issuance of a citation or violation
- Defended construction company against negligence, trespass and conversion claims
- Won breach of contract construction case on Motion for Summary Judgment
- Argued and won plaintiff’s Motion of Summary Judgment in a commercial landlord-tenant dispute
- Assisted in obtaining successful indemnification ruling and outstanding verdict for Halliburton in Phase I trial of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill litigation
- Served as special counsel in bankruptcy litigation and commercial construction cases
- Oversaw multi-million dollar commercial foreclosures
- Successfully represented pro-bono client on breach of contract and conversion lawsuit
- Negotiated severance agreements and prepared liability waivers
