Houston, TX (June 15, 2009) — Andrews Myers, P.C. was recognized for the fourth consecutive year as a leading construction law firm in Texas, receiving a top two ranking in the latest edition of the prestigious legal directory, Chambers USA, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. In addition, firm attorneys Bill Andrews, Tom Myers and Ben Westcott, were again recognized as leading construction lawyers.
Andrews Myers, P.C. provides construction law, commercial real estate and corporate legal services. In writing about the firm’s depth of veteran construction legal talent, Chambers observes that the firm is a “vastly experienced team.” Chambers also wrote that “the firm recently created a cross-disciplinary project recovery group to assist owners, developers and contractors affected by the economic downturn.”
Andrews again received a top ranking among construction lawyers in the state. He has more than 30 years of experience in complex construction and engineering-related disputes, claims, litigation, arbitrations and mediations. The Chambers directory, which uses client and attorney interviews to rank lawyers, reports that Andrews is “regarded by observers as exceptional for construction claims, litigation and arbitration.” This is the sixth year that Andrews has been acknowledged by Chambers USA.
Myers and Westcott were also singled out as leaders for their construction law practices. Myers’ 26-year practice includes construction-related transactions, claims and insurance, risk management, surety workouts, litigation and arbitrations. Chambers noted that Myers “impresses observers with his excellent transactional work and negotiating skills.” Westcott has more than nine years of experience in transactional and dispute resolution aspects of construction law, and his experience includes the prosecution and defense of a variety of construction-related issues. Chambers USA, an independent legal rating publication, bases its directory rankings on more than 10,000 phone interviews with clients and attorneys over an eight-month period. The qualities on which rankings are assessed include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness/astuteness, diligence, commitment and other qualities most valued by the client.
