Houston, TX (September 21, 2009) — Andrews Myers, P.C., one of Texas’ top-ranked construction law firms, announced that shareholder William Andrews has been elected treasurer for the 2009-2010 Governing Council of the Construction Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. An active member of the section since its inception in 1989, Andrews’ role in this office is to oversee the financial affairs of the section.
For more than 30 years Andrews has practiced construction law, focusing on construction-related claims, lawsuits, mediations and arbitrations. He has represented owners, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers and engineering firms on a wide variety of construction-related projects.
Andrews has tried to verdict and arbitrated to award more than 50 construction cases. Since 1988, he has been a member of the American Arbitration Association’s National Panel of Construction Arbitrators and has served as a construction mediator since 1998.
Andrews is a cum laude graduate of the University of Houston Law Center and is a member of the Houston Bar Association’s Construction Law Section and a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. Andrews is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Large Complex Construction Case Panel of Arbitrators.
The Construction Law Section of the State Bar of Texas has over 1,000 legal professionals from the public and private sectors as members who are involved in the practice of construction law as licensed attorneys of the Texas State Bar Association.
